Steamers Knock Off Ramblers 1–0
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WEST KENT, NB — The Amherst Ramblers were edged 1–0 by the West Kent Steamers Saturday night at the J.K. Irving Centre in a tightly contested Maritime Junior Hockey League matchup that came down to a single decisive goal.
In a defensive battle dominated by goaltending and disciplined play at both ends, the lone tally of the evening came from the home side in the second period, as the Steamers found the back of the net to break the scoreless deadlock and ultimately hold the advantage. The goal stood up as the game-winner, and Amherst’s offence was unable to respond before the final horn.
The Ramblers worked hard to create chances throughout the night, pressuring the Steamers in key moments and testing the opposing goaltender with sustained zone time. However, the Amherst attack was stymied by strong defensive coverage and timely saves, leaving the team searching for offense in a low-scoring affair.
On the back end, Amherst’s netminder, Hudson Bradley, kept the Ramblers in the contest with significant saves on quality opportunities, while the rest of the defensive unit battled through traffic to limit quality chances for West Kent. Despite the loss, the effort to keep the game within reach until the final minutes showcased the team’s resilience on the road.
The Ramblers will look to regroup and return to their offensive form as they prepare for their next regular-season matchup, aiming to bounce back and continue their push toward the postseason.
