Amherst Ramblers Win 5–1 Over The Wildcats

BERWICK, N.S. — The Amherst Ramblers delivered a commanding road performance Friday night, skirting past the Valley Wildcats with a 5–1 victory at the Kings Mutual Century Centre in a key Maritime Junior Hockey League matchup.
Valley struck first in the opening period when Lutz cashed in on the power play at 5:13, giving the Wildcats an early 1–0 lead. Amherst responded before the period concluded as Cooper Cormier finished off a feed from Anthony Gaudet and Mark Corbett at 15:07, knotting the game at 1–1 through 20 minutes.
The Ramblers seized control in the second period. Zach Wheeler notched a goal at 2:27, assisted by Elliot Wright, before Corbett struck with a shorthanded goal at 7:25 to give Amherst a 3–1 advantage heading into the final frame.
Amherst continued to press in the third period, as Kaine extended the lead on the power play at 3:24 with helpers from Gaudet and Cormier. Cormier then capped off the scoring with his third goal of the night at 16:30, set up by Gaudet and Corbett, sealing the 5–1 victory.
Ramblers goaltender Brandon Lavoie earned the win with 30 saves on 31 shots, while Valley netminder Hogan recorded 43 stops in defeat. Amherst outshot the Wildcats 48–31 and showcased a disciplined effort on special teams.
The win strengthens Amherst’s momentum as the Ramblers continue their campaign in the Maritime Junior Hockey League, highlighting balanced scoring and strong play in all three zones.
