Ansems Comes To Amherst
The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers have brought in 6’8 left-handed defenceman Carter Ansems from the Valley Wildcats in exchange for a 2025 6th-round draft pick and player development fees.
The 20-year-old Ansems played parts of two seasons with the Truro Bearcats before being traded to his hometown team, the Valley Wildcats in the middle of last year.
Before joining the Bearcats, Ansems played two seasons in the QMJHL between the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, Chicoutimi Saguenéens, and the Cape Breton Eagles.
This is a second homecoming for Ansems, his father Bill is a Ramblers alumni playing three seasons from 1988-1991. Ansems says he is ready to finish his Jr.A career where his Father brought home a championship. “Finally made it to the old man’s stomping grounds, can’t wait to be in the jungle”.
Ansems and the Ramblers will return on the ice when training camp opens in late August.
