The Amherst Ramblers delivered a strong team effort Thursday night, earning a hard-fought 5–3 road win over the Truro Bearcats, backed by a natural hat trick from forward Mark Corbett.

The game began with a tight-checking first period, with both sides exchanging early chances. Amherst broke the deadlock late in the frame when Jack O’Blenis buried the first goal of the game at 15:21, giving the Ramblers a 1–0 lead heading into intermission.

Truro answered quickly in the second, tying the game just 39 seconds in on a power play goal from Callum Aucoin. But Amherst wasted no time regaining control. Less than two minutes later, Elliot Wright restored the lead with a slick finish off a setup from Jack O’Blenis and Owen Aura.

From there, Mark Corbett took over. He scored back-to-back goals midway through the period—first at 11:29 off a feed from Anthony Gaudet, and then again just three minutes later with assists from Aura and Gaudet—to push Amherst ahead 4–1. Truro’s Nate Curson got one back to cut the lead to two, but the Ramblers held firm heading into the third.

The Bearcats kept pressing and were rewarded when Jake Todd scored at 15:29 to make it a one-goal game. But Corbett completed his hat trick in clutch fashion, finding the empty net with just over two minutes left to seal the win for Amherst.

Goaltender Hudson Bradley stood tall for the Ramblers, stopping 31 of 34 shots, while Amherst made the most of their chances despite being outshot 34–24 on the night.

With the victory, Amherst improves to 6–6–0–0, snapping a three-game skid and picking up valuable momentum. The win also gives the Ramblers momentum as they head into a key stretch in the season, including a matchup in the newly launched Strait Rivalry Series With the Summerside Capitals.
