Defense Shines Against The Mariners

It was a full team performance this afternoon with a four-point swing on the line.

The game started the best way for both goalies with them not allowing a goal, each goalie had to be sharp each making a couple of big saves to get through 20 minutes scoreless.

The second would be a favourable one for the Ramblers with Christain Reardon breaking the deadlock, roofing a slot shot over the glove of the Yarmouth keeper, he also extended his point streak to 12 games. The Ramblers would keep pushing on offence to get a second goal, and Jonah Jelley would deliver, potting a cross-ice pass from Christian Reardon to make it 2-0. Yarmouth would turn on the pressure late in the second however Lyam LeBlanc would keep the ship steady to send the Ramblers to the room up a pair.

Yarmouth would keep the offensive push coming at the Rams, but they couldn’t solve the Rams’ defence or netminder. With just under 4 minutes left in the game Mark Corbett would seal the deal tipping home the Reyers point shot to make it 3-0. The rough stuff would pick up at the end of the period with Brandon Cormier squaring off with Cole McKeigan, and Alex Christmas throwing hands as well.

After the penalties were assessed the clock would run down to zero for the Ramblers to snag the win and for Lyam LeBlanc to get his first MHL shutout.

Tough competition is on deck for the Ramblers next week, the week starts Thursday in Summerside, then home to Edmundston on Saturday night then we wrap it up on the road in Truro on Sunday.
