Goals A Plenty In Campbellton

The Ramblers kicked off the weekend with their offence on full display.

The first period was relatively quiet for both teams, with only one goal being scored, and it would be by Campbellton. Ramblers trail 1-0 heading to the second where the action would shift into overdrive.

The Tigers would come out of the gates quickly in the middle period, extending their lead to 3-0. The Ramblers wouldn’t go away easily, Mark Corbett would break the shutout for the Tiger’s goalie, and then Aiden Dufault would score from the point making it a one-goal game, 30 seconds after the Dufault goal Goran Stobo would make the game 3-3 from the slot.

The Ramblers would pick up right where they left off with Jaden Reyers potting his first goal with the team, powering the puck through the Tigers keeper to give us the lead, Christian Reardon would pad the lead with his 12th of the season and extended his point streak to 9 games. Mark Corbett would score, shortly after Reardon, tipping home his second of the game and the Ram’s sixth straight goal. The Tigers would mount a small comeback of their own scoring back-to-back goals to make it 6-5. Owen Sparkes would give the Ramblers a bit of breathing room making the lead 7-5, but the Tigers still would not go away, scoring with exactly one minute left bringing them within a goal. After that, the Rambler’s defence would hold off the Tiger’s attack to pick up a 7-6 win on the road.

Not too much rest for the Ramblers as they continue their short two-game road trip as they head to Miramichi to face the Timberwolves tomorrow evening.
