Ramblers Bounce Back for 4–3 Win Over Mariners

AMHERST, NS — The Amherst Ramblers capped off a thrilling Friday night at Amherst Stadium, topping the Yarmouth Mariners 4–3 in an exciting Maritime Junior Hockey League matchup.

Amherst struck first in the opening period when Anthony Gaudet opened the scoring at 2:37, assisted by Thomas Gagnon and Owen Aura, giving the Ramblers an early 1–0 lead.

The second period belonged to Amherst’s offence. Yarmouth would start off the scoring to tie the game early in the middle period. Thomas Gagnon would regain the Ramblers the lead to 2–1 at 3:56 with helpers from Ryan Haynes and Gaudet. Shortly after, Darien Reynolds made it 3–1 at 6:45 on the power play, again set up by Aura and Gaudet. Amherst capped off the period with Ty Peddigrew scoring at 19:41, assisted by Gagnon, putting the Ramblers up 4–1 heading to the third.

Yarmouth mounted a late push in the final frame. Liam Dutcher got the Mariners on the board at 2:41, and Cole MacLeod followed with a goal at 4:30 to pull Yarmouth within one. Despite the comeback effort, Amherst held firm to secure the 4–3 victory.

Amherst outshot Yarmouth 53–33 on the night. Goaltender Hudson Bradley made 30 saves to earn the win, while Keegan Warren stopped 49 shots in net for the Mariners.

The Ramblers were effective on special teams, scoring on the power play, and their balanced scoring attack powered the win.

The victory reflects Amherst’s depth and resilience as the team strengthens its position in the MHL standings and looks to build momentum heading into upcoming matchups.
