FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BERWICK, NS — Saturday, December 20, 2025 — The Amherst Ramblers delivered a strong road performance with a 5–1 win over the Valley Wildcats at Kings Mutual Century Centre, showcasing balanced scoring and relentless pressure from start to finish.
Amherst struck first in the opening frame when Anthony Gaudet opened the scoring at 6:29, assisted by Owen Aura and Mark Corbett. Just over five minutes later, Corbett extended the lead with a shorthanded tally, this time set up by Gaudet. The early two-goal lead set the tone for the night.
In the second period, the Ramblers continued their offensive push with Aura adding another goal on the power play late in the frame, again assisted by Gaudet and Corbett, giving Amherst a commanding 3–0 advantage heading to the third.
Valley mounted a response in the third period, finally finding the scoresheet at 10:20 on a goal by Bent, but Amherst answered back with authority. Thomas Gagnon restored the three-goal cushion at 17:00, and Elliot Wright put the game out of reach with an insurance marker at 18:00 to close out the scoring.
Amherst outshot the Wildcats 49–36 and went 1-for-6 on the power play, while limiting Valley’s opportunities despite a spirited effort. Goaltender Brandon Lavoie picked up the win with 35 saves in net, while Valley’s Hogan faced heavy traffic and made 44 stops.
The victory highlights Amherst’s depth and discipline, as the Ramblers control play in all three zones and capitalize on key special teams opportunities. Amherst now looks ahead to maintaining momentum as the season progresses.
