Ramblers Get Four Players Wednesday

Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers made two big trades Wednesday afternoon. One with the Edmundston Blizzard and the other with Grand-Falls Rapide.
In the first trade, Amherst traded the MHL rights of supplemental list player Blake Richardson for 18-year old’s, Tristian Sanchez, Matthew McHatten, Alex MacKinnon, and a 2022 2nd round pick.
In the second trade of the day, Amherst sent the 2nd round pick acquired from Edmundston to Grand-Falls for 18-year-old forward Alex Petrie.
“We took Blake Richardson in the Q supplemental draft this year with our 3rd pick. In talks with the player, he made it known he wanted to be in Northern NB close to his family in Quebec.” LeBlanc stated.
When the GM LeBlanc looked at this trade he’s very happy getting players that will play in Amherst this season and for years to come.
“We gave up a very good 20-year-old that never planned on playing for us for four very good young players that will be on our roster for the upcoming season plus. Sanchez and McHatten were both very good forwards in midget and leaders of their respective teams. MacKinnon played last season with the Blizzard as a 17-year-old. He’s big, good in the corners, and moves the puck well. Alex Petrie is another good young forward that played as a 17-year-old in Grand-Falls last season. We are excited about these trades moving forward.” LeBlanc said
