Ramblers Make A Pair Of Trades

Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers made two trades Tuesday.
Amherst sent 20 year old forward Brandon McCarthy to the Summerside Western Capital for 17 year old forward Jonah Jelley, a 2nd round pick in the 2023 draft, 4th round pick in 2022 draft and future considerations.
General Manager Jeff LeBlanc is pleased with the compensation received for McCarthy. “We drafted Brandon back in 2017 in the 8th round. He’s a player we tried to bring to Amherst many times over the years but it never worked out. We tried again this summer with no luck. Rather than get nothing for him as he would have stayed back in Newfoundland to play JrB we decided to move him for a great young prospect, two good picks and future considerations. I’m happy with what we received in compensation for a player that would have never played in Amherst.” LeBlanc said
Jonah Jelley was a 2nd round pick by the Summerside Western Capitals in the 2020 MHL draft. He was also selected by the Charlottetown Islanders in 8th round.
“Johan Jelley has very good upside and a high ceiling for development. He played his Bantam hockey in Dieppe, and was coached by our new New Brunswick scout Alex Armsworthy so we are familiar with the player. Great kid, that works hard and competes. Always nice adding these types of players to the program.” Leblanc added
In the second trade, Amherst traded futures to Grand-Falls for 20 year old forward Noah Adams. Adams played the last two seasons with the Smith Falls Bears of the CCHL. In 61 CCHL games Adams chipped in with 27 points and 65PIM.
