Ramblers Outscore Wildcats 7–5 in High-Scoring Affair

AMHERST, NS — The Amherst Ramblers delivered an electrifying performance Friday night at Amherst Stadium, outlasting the Valley Wildcats in a wild 7–5 victory.  In a game filled with momentum swings and offensive fireworks, Amherst’s depth and timely scoring lifted the home side in a thrilling Maritime Junior Hockey League contest.

After a scoreless first period, the offensive onslaught began in the second. Amherst struck first just 19 seconds into the frame when Anthony Gaudet buried a goal with helpers from Owen Dyke and Cooper Cormier. Valley responded quickly, with Lutz tying the game only 32 seconds later before Anderson and Ford struck to give the Wildcats a 3–1 lead.

The Ramblers clawed back midway through the period. Elliot Wright trimmed the deficit to one at 9:12, and Cormier tied the game late in the frame with a goal assisted by Gaudet and Christian White, sending the teams to the intermission deadlocked at 3–3.

The back-and-forth action continued in the third. Valley’s Bent briefly restored the Wildcats’ lead, but Amherst surged ahead with a decisive response. Mark Corbett tied the game at 5:51, Owen Aura put the Ramblers ahead at 9:16, and Corbett netted his second of the night at 13:18. Wright added a power-play marker at 14:56 to extend the lead. Valley’s Fletcher added two late goals, but Amherst closed out the 7–5 win.

The Ramblers finished 3-for-3 on the power play, while Valley went 1-for-1. Amherst goaltender Hudson Bradley earned the victory with 44 saves in the offensive showcase.

The win highlighted Amherst’s resilience and offensive balance, with key contributions across the lineup. The Ramblers will look to build on the momentum as the MHL season rolls on.
