Ramblers Shut Down Capitals in 5–0 Home Victory at Amherst Stadium

AMHERST, NS — The Amherst Ramblers delivered a dominant performance Saturday night at Amherst Stadium, blanking the Summerside Western Capitals 5–0 in a strong showing in Maritime Junior Hockey League play.

Amherst opened the scoring late in the first period when Jacob Kaine wired home a goal at 13:56, assisted by Jack O’Blenis and Brandon Reynolds, giving the home side an early lead after 20 minutes.

The Ramblers continued their offensive pressure in the second period. Cooper Cormier extended the lead at 3:37 with a goal set up by Anthony Gaudet, and Evan Nicholson followed with a tally at 9:33, assisted by Anthony Morin and Ty Peddigrew. Later in the period, Cormier struck again on the power play at 16:15, with helpers from Mark Corbett and Reynolds, pushing Amherst’s advantage to 4–0.

Amherst added an early third-period goal when Cormier completed his hat trick at 1:23, assisted by Gaudet and Thomas Gagnon, sealing the 5–0 victory in emphatic fashion.

In net, Hudson Bradley was outstanding, stopping all 37 shots he faced to earn his first shutout for the Ramblers. Amherst’s defence and disciplined play kept Summerside off the board despite the Capitals earning seven power-play opportunities.

The balanced scoring and strong defensive effort powered the Ramblers to a key home victory in front of 745 fans at Amherst Stadium.
