Ramblers Shut Down Mariners

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AMHERST, N.S., — The Amherst Ramblers delivered a standout team performance Saturday night at Amherst Stadium, toppling the Yarmouth Mariners by a 4–1 final score in a key Maritime Junior Hockey League clash. The Ramblers’ balanced attack and strong defensive play fueled the decisive victory.

Amherst wasted little time building momentum, striking first in the opening period. Cooper Cormier broke the deadlock midway through the first frame, converting a feed from Anthony Gaudet and Thomas Gagnon at 7:44, surprising the Mariners and igniting the home crowd.

The Ramblers continued to control play in the second period, as Gaudet extended Amherst’s lead at 3:37, finishing a setup by Jack O’Blenis and Gagnon to make it 2–0. Just three minutes later, Cormier added his second of the night shorthanded at 6:40, with support from linemate Darien Reynolds, pushing the advantage to 3–0 through 40 minutes.

Yarmouth finally got on the board early in the third period on the power play at 7:27, halting Amherst’s shutout bid and energizing the Mariners’ bench. However, Jacob Kaine quelled any momentum shift with a goal at 16:37, assisted by Cormier and Owen Dyke, sealing the 4–1 victory for the Ramblers.

Between the pipes, Huds stood tall for Amherst, turning aside key chances and helping keep Yarmouth’s offense in check, while the Ramblers’ penalty kill effectively limited the Mariners’ power-play opportunities. Amherst outshot Yarmouth and played with disciplined intensity throughout the night.

The win underscores the Ramblers’ balanced scoring depth and solid defensive structure as they continue their push in the MHL regular season.
