Ramblers Top Mariners 6–3 on the Road
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
YARMOUTH, NS — The Ramblers returned to the win column Friday night with a confident 6–3 victory over the Yarmouth Mariners at the Mariners Centre in a spirited Maritime Junior Hockey League matchup.
Amherst came out firing in the first period, striking three times to take firm control. Jacob Kaine got the scoring started at 15:05, assisted by Ryan Haynes and Darien Reynolds. Just over two minutes later at 17:34, Thomas Gagnon extended the lead with a finish set up by Cooper Cormier and Anthony Gaudet. Kaine struck again at 18:47, with helpers from Jack O’Blenis and Reynolds, sending the Ramblers to the first intermission with a commanding 3–0 lead.
Amherst opened the second period in stride when Mark Corbett lit the lamp at 4:23, assisted by Anthony Morin and Elliot Wright, making it 4–0. Yarmouth responded with two goals from Grayson Pardy and a power-play tally by Liam Dutcher, cutting the Ramblers’ advantage to 4–3 midway through the period. Just when momentum looked to shift, Ty Peddigrew restored Amherst’s two-goal buffer at 15:30 with a strike set up by Corbett.
Amherst added an early insurance goal in the third when Peddigrew scored again at 0:16, assisted by Wright, to make it 6–3 and secure the road victory.
Both teams finished with 37 shots on goal, and while Yarmouth was able to generate opportunities, Amherst’s balanced scoring attack and strong goaltending kept the Mariners at bay. Goalie Brandon Lavoie earned the win with 34 saves, while Keegan Warren made 31 stops for Yarmouth.
The Ramblers improve their road record and will look to carry this momentum into their next challenge as the MHL season continues.
