Ramblers Win In Final Home Game For The Season.

It was a bittersweet night at the stadium as the Ramblers picked up an 8-5 win on home ice for the final time this season.

Fans were hardly in their seats when Gavin Watt opened the scoring just 20 seconds into this one. South Shore would power back picking up a pair in a short time before Colby Huggan would tie the game back up at 2. South Shore wouldn’t stand down scoring two more before the end of the period, taking a 4-2 lead into the intermission.

The Lumberjacks would pick up right where they left off in the second extending the lead to 5-2 early in the period, however, that would be the last time the Jacks would hit the back of the net. Alex Siletsky would swing momentum back to the Ramblers with a snipe to bring the team to within two, then the floodgates opened, and Tristan Sanchez would tip home a point shot shortly after to make it a one-goal game. Then just 50 seconds later Gavin Watt would get his second of the night to tie the game 5-5. Alex Savoie would get in on the scoring giving the Ramblers the lead heading to the third.

Tristan Sanchez would get his second of the game 42 seconds into the Third making it 7-5, and as if it was written as a movie Gavin Watt would complete the hat-trick with 3 minutes left in the game making the final 8-5. The hat-trick would earn Watt the game’s first star in his final game in front of the Amherst faithful, with two goals in this game Tristan Sanchez was named second star, and a four-point night for Colby Huggan earned him the game’s third star.

The Ramblers wrap up the season Monday night as they hit the road to Grand Falls.
