Rams Sign Salvis as New Bench Boss

The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Jr A Ramblers are pleased to announce, Ryan Salvis, will be the new Rams head coach. Salvis has been given a one year contract with a team option for two more beginning this upcoming season.
Salvis, a 37 year-old native of Moncton, NB, guided the Edmundston Blizzard to a MHL Championship in 2017-18. Since Ryan has been an assistant coach with the Moncton Wildcats.
“I’m very excited and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of such a great organization. As an assistant in Moncton I had the opportunity to learn from some great coaches and I’m looking forward to putting that knowledge to use as head coach. With such a passionate and supportive fan base it’s important for all players and staff to strive for excellence and continue to build on the success this organization had in the past “ Salvis said just before the head coaching announcement.
President Ron Lake was happy to be adding another winner to the organization.
“We are very happy to have Ryan join the organization. He is a proven winner both as a player and as a coach in this league. The experience he brings will keep pushing this program to be one of the top in the country. It was a hard choice with a lot of great applicants. We are excited our coach will only work as the Ramblers coach. That was important for us. Can’t wait to get started” said Ron Lake, President of the Ramblers.
Salvis’s playing career including four seasons with the Moncton Wildcats and St. Fx. He also played seven years of pro hockey wining three SPHL Championship in his final three seasons. One of those titles he acted as team captain.
An announcement will be made soon regarding the rest of the Ramblers coaching staff. One of last season’s assistants won’t be returning. Mathieu Martin works full time in Moncton and can’t commit for another season.
