Starting The Second Half Off Right

The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers were back in action after the league’s holiday break, starting the second half on the road in Berwick.

The guys were well rested and off and going right away in this one with a couple of Newfoundlanders scoring in the opening frame, with Christian Reardon and Owen Sparkes giving the Rams a multi-goal lead heading to the second.

In the second, the scoring would calm down with the teams trading chances, and Valley would get the lone goal in the period to cut the Ramblers lead to just a goal heading to the final frame.

The Ramblers would start to wear down the Wildcats in the third period with high-tempo play throughout the period. The pressure would pay off in a big way with Alex Christmas, Matthew Hunter, Christan Reardon and Coen Strang would pad the lead for the Ramblers. Valley would score a couple late in the game to make it a bit closer, however, the Ramblers would hold on to pick up a 6-3 victory.

The Ramblers are back at it tomorrow afternoon as the Grand Falls Rapids come-to-town game is at 2:00 pm.
