Thank You, Cooper
Cooper Cormier’s career with the Amherst Ramblers is a story of talent returning home to dominate the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL). A native of Dieppe, New Brunswick, the 6’3″ left-winger evolved into one of the most feared offensive threats in the league, blending size, skill, and a championship pedigree to lead the Ramblers’ attack.
Cormier first joined the Ramblers organization as a highly touted prospect after a stellar U18 AAA career with the Moncton Flyers. He made a brief appearance in 2022–23 before becoming a regular contributor in the 2023–24 season. During that span, he recorded 27 points in 29 games, showcasing an elite scoring touch that caught the attention of Major Junior scouts. His performance earned him a call-up to the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL, where he gained invaluable experience over 61 games and was part of a championship-winning culture.
Cormier’s return to the Amherst Stadium for the 2025–26 season was one for the ages. Embracing a leadership role, he spearheaded the Ramblers’ offence and finished the regular season as the team’s leading scorer. Across 51 games, Cormier exploded for 36 goals and 31 assists, totalling 67 points.
His ability to use his 209-pound frame to protect the puck and win battles along the boards, combined with a quick-release shot, made him a nightmare for opposing goaltenders. He was particularly effective in clutch moments, providing several multi-goal performances that fueled the Ramblers’ climb up the standings.
Cooper Cormier leaves Amherst as a player who embodied the “Rambler way”—tough, skilled, and community-focused. His 36-goal campaign in 2025–26 stands as one of the most impressive individual seasons in recent franchise history, and he will be remembered as a cornerstone player who helped restore the Ramblers as a powerhouse in the Eastlink South Division.
