Make It Back To Back Wins
The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers picked up their second win of the preseason tonight, beating the Summerside Western Capitals, 5-1 on the Island.
Unlike Friday, this game got off to a hot start offensively, Drew MacIntyre would open the scoring 3:55 into the first, and Summerside would answer back three minutes later, getting their only goal of the game making it 1-1. MacIntyre would score his second of the period giving us the lead heading to the second 2-1.
Both teams had their chances throughout the second, however, no goals were scored, so we would take a one-goal lead to the third.
In the third, the floodgates opened up, and 20-year-old Eric Mork would get the scoring started up again making it 3-1 three minutes into the third. Owen Sparkes would keep the goals coming nine minutes into the period padding our lead, making it 4-1. Anthony Gaudet put home his third of the preseason giving us our final score of 5-1.
Lyam LeBlanc made 29 saves in the game to pick up his second win of the preseason and was named the game’s first star Drew MacIntyre’s two goals earned him second star of the game and the Capital’s Jack Campell who scored their lone goal and rounded out the games three stars.
