Ramblers Roll On In Pre-Season Play

The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers finished their preseason win with a 4-0 win over the Pictou County Crushers on Saturday night.

It was a game of quick goals after a defensive start to the game, with 1:40 left in the first Christiano Spadafora tucked in his first goal in his first game at the Amherst Stadium. Coen Strang would pad the Rambler’s lead late into the opening frame making it 2-0 with just 10 seconds remaining in the opening period.

The goaltending stole the show in the second with Jack Howatt keeping the Crushers scoreless with more than a couple of big saves to send the Rams to the third up a pair.

Howatt’s brilliant play carried over to the third, but still, no goals scored by Pictou County. Charles Lavallee would pot home his first goal in front of the Amherst faithful making it 3-0, and just 12 seconds later Cooper Cormier would score his second goal in two games to put the home team up 4-0 and that’s how it would finish on a Saturday night.

The Ramblers finished the preseason with a record of 3-1,  that all resets heading into Saturday night as the team starts the regular season at home against Pictou County at 7:00pm.
