Ramblers Acquire Brandon Lavoie from Bearcats

The Amherst Ramblers have announced the acquisition of 2006-born goaltender Brandon Lavoie from the Truro Bearcats in exchange for a third-round pick in the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) Entry Draft and future considerations.

Lavoie will join the team immediately as the Ramblers continue their push up the Eastlink South Division standings. The addition of Lavoie adds depth and stability to the crease, giving Amherst another reliable option for the remainder of the season and beyond.

About Lavoie

Born on March 3, 2006, in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Brandon Lavoie stands 6’2” and weighs 161 pounds, catching left. Lavoie began his hockey journey in the Nova Scotia U18 Major Hockey League with the Dartmouth Steele Subarus, where he quickly established himself as one of the league’s premier young goaltenders. Over two seasons, he compiled an impressive record and was named Top Goaltender at the U18 Atlantics, showcasing his consistency and poise under pressure.

His strong play earned him attention from higher levels, and he went on to spend time in the QMJHL with both the Cape Breton Eagles and the Victoriaville Tigres, gaining valuable experience against elite competition. Lavoie returned to the MHL with the Truro Bearcats, where he continued to refine his game, posting steady numbers and earning a reputation as a dependable and technically sound goaltender.

Now joining the Amherst Ramblers, Lavoie brings with him not only strong fundamentals and quick reflexes, but also the drive and focus that have defined his young career. The organization believes he has the potential to become a cornerstone in net for years to come.
