Ramblers Fall 6-1 to Blizzard in Edmundston

EDMUNDSTON, N.B. — The Amherst Ramblers dropped a 6-1 decision to the Edmundston Blizzard on Sunday afternoon at Centre Jean-Daigle.

Edmundston opened the scoring at 6:14 of the first period when Charles-Éric Tremblay converted on the power play. The Blizzard added two more goals before the end of the opening frame, with Michael Arsenault scoring at 11:38 before Justin Bouchard made it 3-0 at 18:51.

The Blizzard continued to extend their lead in the second period. Arsenault scored his second of the afternoon at 11:34, followed by a goal from Noah Larochelle at 14:27, sending Edmundston into the second intermission with a 5-0 advantage.

Amherst got on the board early in the third period when Nathan Weber scored at 6:15, with assists from Zach Wheeler and Eliott Duval. The Ramblers continued to battle, but Edmundston’s François-Xavier Mercier added another goal at 19:13 to round out the scoring at 6-1.

Brandon Lavoie faced a heavy workload in the Amherst net, making 40 saves on 46 shots. Olivier St-Onge stopped 21 of 22 shots for Edmundston to earn the victory. Tremblay, Arsenault and Lucas Hannay were named the game’s three stars.

The Ramblers went 0-for-3 on the power play, while Edmundston finished 1-for-3 with the man advantage. Both teams were assessed six minutes in penalties.

The loss moves Amherst’s record to 3-2-0 on the 2026-27 Maritime Hockey League season. The Ramblers return to action Thursday night when they visit the West Kent Steamers.
