A Goalie Dual On The Island

It was a battle of the goalies this evening in Summerside, and Lyam LeBlanc would come out on top!!

The Caps would get on the board first, scoring the only goal in the opening frame on a rocket shot past LeBlanc on the man advantage. Both teams would get opportunities to score as the period ended, but both goalies would stand strong.

In the second, the Ramblers would pile on the pressure with four breakaway opportunities, but the Caps would turn them away, including back-to-back saves on one rush. The Rambler’s offence would finally break through with Jonah Jelley sprung on another breakaway, with a pass from Drew MacIntyre, he would go backhand forehand and roof the puck to tie the game 1-1.

The third would be all goalies, sending the game to overtime and securing a point for the Ramblers. Overtime would have its close calls but no goals, A shootout was inbound on the Island.

Jonah Jelley would shoot first for the Rams, but he wasn’t able to beat the Cap’s keeper, the Summerside shooter would have the same result against LeBlanc. The second round of the shootout would mirror the first, with no goals. The third round would start with Jaden Reyers beating the Niko Boudreau high blocker to give the Ramblers the advantage. Lyam LeBlanc would do what he’d been doing all night making the save and grabbing the extra point for the Ramblers.

The Ramblers have the day off tomorrow then will square off with the north division leading Edmundston Blizzard at the Stadium at 7:00.
