LeBlanc named MHL Rookie Of The Month

The Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) has named Lyam LeBlanc of the Amherst Ramblers as the Top Rookie for January. The 18-year-old from Trois-Rivières, Quebec posted the fourth-best goals against average in the league for the month at 2.61 and best save percentage at .928, minimum three games played. LeBlanc had a perfect 5-0-0-0 record in January to go with one shutout.

He made 32 saves in a 4-3 win against Truro on January 6th and posted 41 saves in a 5-2 win over Valley on the 13th. LeBlanc allowed six goals in Campbellton on the 19th, but Amherst won the game 7-6. On January 25th, LeBlanc entered the game midway through the 2nd period with Amherst trailing 5-3. He allowed just one goal on 20 shots the rest of the way and made all three saves in the shootout as Amherst came back for a 7-6 win. LeBlanc capped off his month with a 32-save shutout of the Mariners on the 28th.
