Goals Goals Goals

It was goals a-plenty at the Stadium this evening as the Ramblers were looking to regain the series lead over the Crushers.

The Ramblers faithful were out in numbers again tonight with another 1000+ packed into the rink and Anthony Gaudet would get them going once again, Gaudet has now scored our opening goal in our last three home games. The Crushers would answer back to tie the game at one, that would be the last time they would get on the board! The Gaudet, Corbett, Sparkes line would strike again with Mark Corbett going five-hole on the Crusher’s goalie to give us the lead heading to the second period.

The offence would keep clicking in the second, five minutes into the middle frame Jonah Jelley would feed Christian Reardon on a 2 on 1 break and Reardon would tuck it home for his first Metalfab MHL Cup goal to make it 3-1. The young gun line (Gaudet, Corbett, Sparkes) would strike again with Gaudet getting his second of the night on the powerplay to make it 4-1, and they weren’t done there Owen Sparkes would pot another powerplay marker to make it 5-1 heading to the third.

The scoring would roll on in the third with Jaden Reyers potting a quick pair to make the game 7-1. The rough stuff would pick up late in the third with Alex Christmas squaring off with Brenden Avery, Mark Corbett going toe to toe with Leo McLean, and Owen Sparkes completing the Gordie Howe hat-trick as he locked up with Kingsley Austin.

The Ramblers will look to take a stranglehold on the first-round series Friday night as they head to New Glasgow for game 4.
