Movin’ On

The Amherst Ramblers are bound for the second round in the 2024 MetalFab MHL Cup.

It was a packed Pictou County Wellness Centre however it wasn’t the optimal start for the Ramblers, the Crushers scored twice in the first ten minutes. The Ramblers would battle back scoring three straight goals, two from Jonah Jelley and one from Mark Corbett, to take the lead 3-2. The Crushers would draw back even before the end of the first.

The Crushers would get the lead back scoring the only goal of the second to make it 4-3 heading to the third.

With their backs against the wall, the Ramblers would show up in a big way Lyam LeBlanc would not be beaten and Jaden Reyers would reward the Rams faithful who made the trip to New Glasgow tying the game 4-4  and sending this game to overtime.

In overtime, it was back and forth and all the fans were sitting on the edge of their seats. Fans were thinking we were heading for a second OT but with under 90 seconds left Drew MacIntyre would flick the puck on goal and Goran Stobo would sneak behind the Crusher’s defence and tip the puck through the Crushers goalie to send us to the Division Finals to take on the Summerside Western Capitals.
