Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers made another big addition upfront Monday.
Amherst traded futures to the Trenton Golden Hawks of the OJHL for 19-year-old, forward, Dalton Bancroft. Last season with Trenton, Bancroft finished with 41 points including 21 goals in only 41 games.
Ramblers GM Jeff LeBlanc said they added more size, speed, and goal scoring ability with this trade.
“If you look at all three players we’ve brought in they all have size, strength, and skill. Watching Dalton play he’s very hard to play against and has touch around the net. Dalton fits the way we want to play, he competes.”
In another trade last week Amherst obtained the MHL rights to forward Caleb Kean from Fredericton Red Wings for Mathias Savoie. Kean, a Sussex, NB native is currently playing for the Carlton Place Canadians.
“Caleb belongs to another CJHL team so I can’t say much about him. We only received his MHL rights with this trade.” said Leblanc
Bancroft has arrived and has started his 14 day quarantine.
