Ramblers Make Three Trades
Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers, made three trades Monday to close out the MHL trade period.
The Ramblers sent defencemen Owen Porter to the Hearst Lumberjacks of the NOJHL for future considerations.
Amherst then sent 20 year old forward Ben Williams to the Pictou County Weeks Crushers for 1st and 3rd round picks in the 2023 MHL draft. “With the acquisitions we made over the last week, it pushed Ben out of a 20 year old spot as you are only allowed 8. Ben is a good player and person. We wish him nothing but the best and thank him for his time in Amherst.” said General Manager Jeff LeBlanc
In the final move of the 2022 trade period Amherst sent future considerations to Miramichi Timberwolves for 19 year old defenseman Matt Lint.
Lint was Miramichi’s 1st round pick, 3rd overall in the 2019 MHL draft. Matt played 21 games in two seasons with Bathurst and Cape Breton of the QMJHL. “Matt was studying at UNB but with classes going online he had an opportunity to play closer to home.’ Added LeBlanc
