Remembrance Day Victory

The annual Remembrance Day was a success for the Ramblers as the offence came alive for an 8-5 win over the Valley Wildcats this afternoon.

The scoring started quickly, with Owen Aura sniping one home from the point to put the Rams up, however, Valley would respond in a big way scoring three goals in just over three minutes. That wouldn’t deter the Ramblers with Drew MacIntyre scoring twice for his sixth and seventh goals of the season to tie the game 3-3. Valley would answer back with just under two left in the period to take a 4-3 lead to the second.

The Wildcats would add to the lead three minutes into the second making it 5-3 and that’s where their scoring would stop. Two minutes after Valley scored, Owen Sparkes would bring us within a goal with his second of the year. The Ramblers would continue to push for the tying and with six minutes to go in the middle period Cooper Cormier would bang the puck in from in front to tie the game. The Ramblers weren’t done there,  Brandon Cormier would give the Ramblers the lead with just under two minutes left in the second and they would take that lead to the third.

Holding the lead in the final period the Ramblers would keep the pressure on the Wildcats and it would pay off with Christan Reardon padding the lead five minutes into the period, then Jack O’Blenis would finish up the scoring for the Rams with just over two minutes left in the game.

The Ramblers will hit the road Thursday for a home-and-home with the Pictou County Crushers that game starts at 7:00.
