Ramblers made two trades over the holiday weekend.

In the first trade, Amherst traded future considerations to the Cornwall Colts in exchange for 19-year-old defenceman Nick Yuill. Ramblers fans had a chance to watch Yuill as an affiliated player and General Manager Jeff Leblanc says that he liked what he saw in the short time that Yuill spent with the Ramblers and in scouting.
“Nick played for us as a 17-year-old during the Fred Page two years ago. He’s a hard-working Dman that plays the game the right way. We are very excited to get him back.”
Yuill is currently quarantining at his home in Halifax after arriving home from Cornwall late last night. The Rams hope to have him for the season opener on Oct 30th.
In the second trade, the Ramblers acquired 19-year-old center Brendan McCarthy from the Hawkesbury Hawks in exchange for future considerations. McCarthy is also a draft pick of the Rams drafted in the 2017 entry draft 32nd overall, McCarthy is currently playing in the QMJHL,
“Brendan is another one of our draft picks that went to Ontario to pursue other opportunities. He’s currently in the QMJHL with the Charlottetown Islanders. If he’s ever available to play JrA we would love to see him in a Ramblers jersey.”
