RAMBLERS TAKE DOWN WILDCATS 5–2 ON THE ROAD

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

BERWICK, N.S. – The Amherst Ramblers skated to a big road win Friday night, topping the Valley Wildcats 5–2 at the Kings Mutual Century Centre in a physical and fast-paced Maritime Junior Hockey League battle.

Amherst jumped out early and never trailed, opening the scoring in the first period when Evan Nicholson wired home his third of the season at 7:24, lifting the visitors to a 1–0 lead after 20 minutes.

The Ramblers extended their advantage in the second frame with back-to-back goals. Anthony Gaudet struck shorthanded at 6:49, and Reynolds followed up with a power-play tally at 8:51, pushing Amherst’s lead to 3–0 heading into the final period.

In the third, the Wildcats fought back with a goal from Bent at 5:24, but Amherst’s special teams and depth proved decisive. Mark Corbett netted his 19th of the year on the power play at 9:22, then added his 20th just before the midway point of the third at 16:54 to put the game well out of reach. Valley added a late marker from Lutz at 17:31, but the comeback bid fell short.

Shot totals favoured Amherst 43–30, with Ramblers netminder Bradley stopping 28 shots for the win. Valley’s Hogan faced heavy pressure with 38 saves in defeat. Amherst finished 2-for-4 on the power play while holding Valley off the board with the man advantage.

The victory improves Amherst’s record and keeps the club in strong position as the playoff push intensifies. The Ramblers now look to build on the momentum with upcoming matchups against divisional foes.
