RAMBLERS GM JEFF LEBLANC BUSY AT THE TRADE DEADLINE

Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers made a total of 7 trades before the trade deadline last Friday.

Amherst traded 2nd round pick in 2021, Brandon Casey, and futures to Fredericton, for 18-year-old forward and Moncton native Aiden MacIntosh. In the other trade with Fredericton, Amherst added AP defencemen Alex Hayes for futures.

Ramblers GM Jeff LeBlanc said they added major junior experience at the forward position.

“I’ve watched Aiden play a lot over the years, the first time way back when he was in Bantam. He’s always been a player that I watch because I love his competitive level. He’s a character kid that works hard every night. We are ecstatic to land not only a great young player but also a quality person. I’m sure many players on our team that know him will be excited we added him.”

In another trade, Amherst sent Spencer Smith to Pictou County for defenseman Malcolm Genge and Goalie Matt Normore plus futures.

“With Tyler Casely needing season-ending surgery and no timetable on Joel Goguen’s return from injury we needed to do something at the goalie position. Matt’s a very solid goalie that has a ton of experience. Genge is a good stay-at-home D, Doug has a lot of familiarity with both players and that will help in the transition.”

Amherst also added 20-year-old forward Dylan Seitz from the Buffalo Jr Sabers for futures. Dylan played the last three seasons with the Moncton Wildcats. “We now have Dylan’s CJHL rights so we’ll see what happens in the next couple of days. He’s currently practicing with UNB in Fredericton.” Leblanc added

In trade number 5 Amherst sent Ryan Penny to Miramichi for a 5th-round pick in 2020.

Trade number 6 Amherst picked up 20-year-old Dman from PEI Jack DesRoches for futures.

The 7th trade happened when Amherst traded goalie prospect Oliver Arnfast and a 6th round pick in 2021 to Campbelton for Defensive prospect Michael Sack, a 6th, 7th, and 8th round picks in 2020.
