Heading To The Playoffs On A High

After a tough result on the road last night the Amherst Ramblers were looking to build momentum heading into the first round.

A packed Amherst Stadium would be treated to an epic show from the boys in purple. Anthony Gaudet would bring the 1,400+ to its feet early in this one. Sniping home the only goal of the period just over halfway through the opening frame.

The Rams would keep rolling in the second, with Liam Dutcher flicking the puck overtop of the laid-out Mariners goalie to make it 2-0. Jonah Jelley would get in on the scoring potting his 25th of the season, and with helpers on the two previous goals the Ramblers crowd was on watch for Jelley to hit 70. His push for 70 continued as he picked up a second assist on the Rambler’s 4th goal from Christian Reardon, that goal would send the Rams to the second intermission up 4-0.

6 minutes into the final period Jonah Jelley would hit the 70-point mark with a shot over the shoulder of the Mariners goalie to put the Ramblers up 5-0. The Mariners would make a late push scoring two quick ones but that’s all they would get as Jack Howatt kept the ship steady to send the Ramblers to the Playoffs with home-ice advantage in the first round. Now we wait to see who we’ll play in the first round.

The playoffs are in sight, keep an eye on our socials for the latest info.
