2023 Awards Banquet

The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers hosted their annual awards banquet last night at the Lions Club.

The night began with supper, after the meal Ramblers super fan Brody Kouwenberg took to the mic to thank the players for all their support and for taking him in during the season.

After Brody, it was time for the awards. 

The big winner on the night was captain Alex Savoie, winner of the Clean Play, Players Choice, and Most Valuable Player.   

Gavin Watt and Mitchell Dudar both picked up a pair of awards on the night. Watt was named the Captain’s Choice as well as Top Scorer of the Year. Dudar was named the Billet of the Year along with the top Academic player of the season.

Conrad Allen won the first award of the night for Rookie of the Year, Coen Strang was named the team’s top Defensemen, Brandon Cormier was awarded the team’s most improved player, Matthew Hunter picked up the Volunteer of the Year for the second straight year, and Tristian Sanchez won the Fan Choice. 

Once all the awards were handed out, the team honoured their graduating playing, assistant captain Owen Cole who played four seasons with the team, goalie Mitchell Dudar, three seasons, assistant captain Gavin Watt, two seasons, and Captain Alex Savoie one Season.
